She's best known for her role as Jane Seymour, the young woman who will become the 3rd Queen of Henry VIII on the television program The Tudors. Briem was nine when she began acting at the Icelandic National Theater. Her first stage performance was as a child in Iceland and was a part of TV and radio plays. Briem at the age of 16 was a teenager when she moved to London and took part in her first production, Lenin In Love for The New End Theater. Briem graduated from at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at 19 and was awarded the John Barton Prize and a Drama degree. He performed in many different shows at RADA which included The Cherry Garden, by Anton Chekhov, and Bernarda Alba's House, written composed by Federico Garcia Lorca.
